CURRENT CLUB HITS BY LARRY SANDERS Epic Records have a smash with Billy Oceans "Night" (Feel Like Getting Down)/"Stay The Night." Surveyed by Billboard Magazine, the disc is positioned at the number five slot nationally.
Thanks to extensive radio programming, Kraftwerks "Pocket Calculator" on the Warner label is exploding on dance floors everywhere. The grup has retained the synthesizes style that won it world acclaim with Trans Europe Express. Possibly a little ahead of their time in the seventies, the sound of Kraftwerk is the sough of the eighties.
Remember the Dixiecups and IKO IKO? Prism Records and Loverde have updated the song, and contrary to some negative reviews in other trade publications, the disc does very well on this dance floor. The flip side, "San Francisco Serenade" is higher in energy and has received fair feedback. Rainbow Brown, with lead vocalist Fonda Rae of "Deputy of Love" fame has united with Vanguard Records to produce "Till You Surrender."
